DragonLinked: A Network Guide

The network in Osaaru is run on and through magic, rather than technology. Characters can communicate with one another through a magical device they gain from Nuren. There are a wide variety of objects to choose from to host your character's network connection, so there should be something for everyone. The network is an instant visual contact medium. While it's possible to obstruct visual view and have audio only contact, or even display written word with the magically linked devices, it takes active magic to maintain those connections and they are instant. There should be no accidental usage or delayed messages sent through these devices. Wide scale contact with other devices is exhausting and should be short-lived and rarely used. |
Scrying Objects |
---|
The craft-makers of Nuren have created a variety of Magical Host Items for scions and city residents to use. There are many options for all types of characters who might find themselves more comfortable with specific and familiar tools. Some of the available objects include hand held mirrors, scrying orbs, decorative pots and bowls to be filled with water or other reflective substances, books with mirrors built into them, wrist bands with miniature scrying orbs where a watch face would be and more. |
Communication |
Each scrying object contains an element of Spirit Magic that allows the user to expend magical energy in order to reach out to other characters across the land. An item imbued with Spirit Energy and a reflective surface are all that are needed, so characters able to convince a Touched or a Remnant to imbue an object for them are capable of making their own scrying objects. Communicating between one or two characters take a small amount of energy to maintain a connection. Communicating on a larger scale takes more magical energy and is an exhausting endeavor that should not be taken on often or for extended periods of time. |
